Week 15 - December 9th - 13th

Homeroom:
Next week, students are invited to participate in 4 thematic days.
Monday -->Crazy Sock Day
Tuesday --> Santa Hat Day
Wednesday --> PJ Day
Thursday --> Ugly Christmas Sweater

The students wanted to do a Secret Santa. They drew a name today and they will exchange gifts on Thursday. The gift can be bake or bought, the budget is around 10$.

ELA:
Our Mystery Projects are being presented this week. After we say goodbye, for now, to Mr.Lopez we will have Language Power work to do next week. Up to Lesson 20 should be done before Thursday 19th. Then we can all enjoy the break and read til our heart's content!

Social:
This week in Social we continued on a project in which students had to organize a society on a deserted island. When I started to mark the project, I realize students weren't on the right path. So they will have more time next week to complete their project. When I feel that they are done, we will continue to talk about the Local Government.

FLA: 
This week, students practiced writing a sentence by adding something everyday so it became more detailed.  They had to look out for the order of the words in the sentence, the spelling and apply the rules of grammar.  Friday, they edited the last sentence by using an editing worksheet. : Je corrige mon texte (2 versions).  They also finished writing their entries for their poutine calendar.  Next week, we will continue reading pages from ''La plus grosse poutine du monde''.

Week 14 - December 1st - 6th

ELA:
Students will continue their work on the Mystery Project this week. As the majority of students are working in pairs, it is important that each person contribute equally. If absent from school, work needs to be done at home to keep up!
No Language Power this week.

Social:
This week, we started to work on chapter 5 : Local Government and we stoped after the quiz was finish marking. We reviewed some questions of the quiz and took note about it. To continue working on this subject and to get a chance to understand the concepts, we started a project and we'll keep doing this next week.

FLA:
We worked on the adjectives and their place in a sentence.  Here is the worksheet we did : Adjectifs.  Then, they read pages 28 to 45 of ''La plus grosse poutine du  monde''.  After that, students started working on a short writing activity that will eventually become a few pages of a calendar.  Here are the guidelines and rubric : Consignes et grille d'évaluation.  We will continue this activity next week.

Math:
We will begin decimal numbers in Math this week.
